You'll Never Guess What I Did Today,,

A couple of days ago I tried to book a NYC flight from Sydney Aust, using my Amex points & I did, but I had to cancel it, as Amex never sent my points through to Qantas in time, to say I was pissed off is an understatement. So today I spent all morning & all evening on the phone & guess what, I got lucky, not only a free trip, well not really it was 266,000 points & each point is worth $1, but I got a business class seat,,like OMFG!!! so NYC here I come.
I'm coming with my Mum & sister, but I arrive 1st for a week, so I can meet up with my flist & have the biggest LJ lunch on the planet, with a picnic in Central Park. So if you want to come let me know, it's next July so plenty of time, but I have to book now IF I want to use my points & I got the last seat, I swear my Dad God bless him was looking out for me, like he always would.
So that's my news, can you hear me squeeeeing, fuck I still can't believe it, is so happy,,later Jxx

Date: 2008-09-12 12:31 pm (UTC)I can actually sleep, I go Syd San Fran, then change planes & fly an American airline to NYC, & arrive 5.20pm, so its a good flight, hopefully Ill have lighting this time, I tried every airline associated with Amex, but no one had seats other than Qantas. As you know I had a bad flight last time with them, but hey Im not knocking it back :D
Now you have to come too, can;t have that LJ picnic without you, stop spending & save your pennies lol,,thanks,,love ya Jxx

Date: 2008-09-12 05:53 pm (UTC)I meant to tell you when we last chatted that things are definitely looking good on my end for going to NY!! *does a happy dance* Soooo, as long as the family stuff doesn't turn drastically bad, chances are I'll be able to join you!! It'll be sort of a mini vacation for the hubby and I, we've both always wanted to go to NY, so I'll be towing him along and maybe a friend of mine, too. Hubby is very used to us squeeeeing fangirls, I've dragged him along with me to a few cons and fandom get-togethers over the years *bg*!
I'll get in touch with you about the hotel and hubby is going to get in touch with a friend who owns a travel agency and see if he can get us a good deal on airfare, our friend has done it for us before. I'd much rather take a 50 minute flight than drive for 7 or 8 hours :D
This is so exciting!! I hope it works out for me, I'd really love to meet you and my fellow LJers!!! :D
